Can Dogs Eat Eggs?

Yes — eggs are a fantastic whole-food protein for dogs, rich in highly digestible amino acids plus biotin, riboflavin, and selenium. Cooked plain (no butter or salt) is the safe default. An egg a few times a week is a great topper for most dogs — scale the amount to your dog's size.

Can dogs eat raw eggs?

Some raw-feeders give raw eggs, which is generally fine from a clean source, though it carries a small salmonella consideration, and large amounts of raw egg white over time can affect biotin absorption. Cooked plain is the lower-risk default; occasional raw from a trusted source is a personal choice.

Can dogs eat eggshells?

Yes — finely ground eggshell adds calcium and is sometimes used to balance home-cooked diets. It must be ground fine (a coarse shell can be a GI irritant), and it's only relevant if you're intentionally balancing minerals; a dog on a complete diet doesn't need extra.
